Aquaponics

Aquaponics Greenhouse

In our wet northern climate, greenhouses are the perfect complement to a natural swimming pool. The geothermal heat stored in the pool is often enough to keep your greenhouse warm year-round, extending your growing season and maximizing your space.

You can choose to integrate your pool directly within the greenhouse for complete climate control, or create two distinct areas connected by underground piping—the choice is entirely yours. Your imagination sets the limits.

Think of your pool water as a source of nutrients and your greenhouse as a source of filtered water. This allows you to direct water wherever you like—through streams, waterfalls, fountains, or any feature you dream up—creating a fully integrated, functional, and beautiful ecosystem.

Aquaponics garden

With a network of underground pipes and pumps, your aquaponics system can be customized to match any vision—green walls, hanging planters, raised beds, and more—using your natural pool as the water source.

This system not only filters and circulates the water in your pool, but also aerates it, supporting a healthy biosphere while sustaining plant growth wherever you choose to direct the flow.

CAN I PUT FISH IN MY SWIMMING POND?

THE SHORT ANSWER? YES.

It’s one of the most common questions we get—and it was one of our first thoughts too. As avid gardeners, we wondered how “natural” our pools really were, and whether they could truly sustain life.

The short answer is yes. The long answer starts with another question: “How much life?” Once you start exploring aquaponics, pools and gardens aren’t separate—they become filters for each other.

It all comes down to maintaining the symbiotic relationship between plants and fish. In a natural system, each plant filters the waste of one fish, and each fish provides nutrients for one plant. Adding one requires adding the other to maintain balance.

In practice, we often find ourselves with more space for fish than for plants. To maximize this nutrient-rich environment, we combine greenhouses and vertical growing techniques, creating nearly limitless growth potential.

Whether your goal is food, lush gardens, or even cannabis, the question of filtration becomes one of abundance: how can we feed both plants and fish while keeping the system perfectly balanced?
